DeepSoul Unlimited GuestMix #017 – Mixed by SoulCentric

As per usual, we feature cadres in this underground world of DeepHouse. Soldiers who manage to bring and blend in too well in our scenery and manage to deliver proper messages throughout. Our 17th Edition of the DeepSoul Unlimited GuestMixes is compiled and mixes by our brother Shane Moyce “Aka” SoulCentric. DSU was linked with the brother a few months ago and the partnership in between has been one that has formed a musically deep brotherhood. It is undoubtedly true what they say, music does unite Souls indeed.SoulCentric Bio:
Having parents who were musicians, Mum played the pianno & Dad sang &  playeg the accoustic guitar, Shane was introduced to different kinds of music including Gospel, Soul, Jazz, R&B & in his mid teens to dance music.
He started collecting 12″ maxi singles in 1986 & later in 1991 was fortunate to land a residency at a  club in downtown Jozi, Harlem Shuffle.
Playing Friday & Saturday nights to a packed house. Work commitments side tracked his passion for playing House music & he gave up his residency.
In 2005 the flame was re-ignited by a friend  Mduduzi Tsosane, an establshed Dj from Tembisa & the 12″ vinyl collecting resumed.
Shane spent many hours in the different record stores in & around Jozi collecting Soulful House, Deep tech, Deep House & petty much any sound that was different appealing to his ear. Several hours in record stores lead to the formation of friendships with most of the Dj’s working in stores & lead to invitations to play with Dj’s from Soulcandi purely based on his distinctive musical taste. One thing lead to another he was booked to play various gigs around Jozi, Dobsenville, Tembisa, Kagiso & became a regular feature at party’s hosted by Delectable Sundaes at Shikisha Newtown. He colaborated with Kagiso based band,  Meat the Veggies who played a unique jeandre of music they called Afro Kitchen  Jazz. Their collaborative sound of the Deep transcendental beats accompanied by the live instruments created a fresh appealing sound captivating audiences of all types whenever they shared the stage.More recently Shane was invited to play with DeepSoul Unlimited, after being referred by a friend & fellow Dj,  Mack 10, this event saw another side of Shane emerge. Playing a mesmerising classic infused Deep Atmospheric 2 hour set. More friendships were formed and the love for sharing quality music continues.
